Denim never goes out of style. Just ask Kate Moss, who’s rarely seen wearing anything else. But it’s not enough to keep pulling on the same old pair of skinnies day-in, day-out.
This season it’s all about colour — pink, to be precise. At Isabel Marant’s spring catwalk show models wore the softest rose-petal pink pairs, while Current/Elliott has a coral pair in its new collection.
But you needn’t look like Lady Penelope from Thunderbirds. Katy Perry toughened up her candy-floss coloured jeans with a grungy grey vest and biker-esque black bag.
Or you can avoid appearing too girly by changing the shade. Lee has jeans in fluorescent pink and Asos has a similar pair for £35 — wear them if you dare.
And if you don’t do denim, head to Tommy Hilfiger where pastel pink chinos are the order of the day. It’s a short-cut to spring so embrace your inner seven-year-old and reach for the pink denim.
Just remember to counter it with some harder accessories — you don’t want to look like a walking cupcake, do you?
