Eva Mendes has teased that a raunchy comedy sketch she made gave her mother a heart attack.
The 37-year-old actress is good pals with funny man Will Ferrell, and appeared in a spoof video for website Funnyordie.com at his request. The sketch was a huge success, although Eva admits her mother didn't approve of the naughty content.
"I was filming The Other Guys with Will and the director Adam McKay, who are behind the website, and they were like, 'Mendes is funny'. And I was like, 'Why act so surprised? Dude, just give me something to do.'
"So after a couple of months they called and said they had this sketch about a sex tape. It's a play on words though - it's about sticky tape - you have to see it," she explained to Stylist.
"It's still one of the top videos on Funnyordie.com but it gave my mother a heart attack. She wouldn't even watch it, even after I told her it was a joke.
"I was like, 'Mum, it's funny and cute,' but it got to the point where I just had to let it go."
Eva has a fantastic relationship with her mother, and says she can be a huge support when it comes to dealing with all the attention she receives from the paparazzi. The actress joked that her mum follows all her actions online, allowing her to keep up-to-date on her daughter's life.
"Sometimes I don't even know what's happening until my mum alerts me. She has me on Google Alerts," laughed Eva.
"But I think sometimes she feels that's the only way she can keep in touch with me."
